Generate a list of all things you would accomplish if you could not fail.
Not sure about you but I’ve been struggling lately with motivation. It feels like I shifted into auto-pilot and I’m doing the same things, thinking the same thoughts and getting the same results. Do you ever experience this? For me, I hate this feeling. I feel discouraged and that leads to a lack of motivation which only perpetuates the pain of the cycle.
Whenever I’m starting to feel stuck I try something new to trigger new thoughts. In this instance I picked up the book “Blue Jean Business” by Susan Baroncini-Moe. The book is filled with exercises to help you get out of your own way and start or grow your business. Since I’m struggling with mindset I jumped right into her mindset exercise and I wanted to share it with you in case you’re struggling with mindset too. Because typically if we’re feeling stuck it’s a result of mindset which is something we have the power to control.
Are you ready to change your mindset and stir up new ideas and dreams? If so, then check out this exercise.
Exercise: Sit for a moment and ponder this question.
What would you attempt to do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
Then write down a list of 100 things. Nope, she’s not kidding 100 things. If you struggle to get to 100 in a sitting, take a break and come back to it.
Here are some of the things on my list:
Own and operate a multi-million dollar business.
Become a foster parent.
Write a book on confidence.
Travel to Africa and climb Mt. Kilmanjaro, go on a safari and see Victoria Falls.
Initiate friendships with people that inspire me.
To be the person I dream to be in my head.
Audition for a Tedx talk and actually perform it.
Volunteer abroad.
Try mountain biking.
Attend a meditation retreat.
Have an international motivational speaking business.
Start a podcast on confidence and happiness.
Ask Brene Brown to mentor me.
Now it’s your turn! What would you attempt if you knew you couldn’t fail?
This life is yours to live. You deserve everything you want. Remember that.
Life is short. Choose your happy life.
