Why did I become a life coach? So I could inspire people to live their fullest life. Life is short, there are no guarantees. However, we do have control, we have control over how we want to feel, what we want to do, who we want to spend our time with and what we want to spend our time doing.
For those that don’t know, my dad had a stroke at the young age of 54 and my mom suffers from bi-polar and schizophrenia (she’s untreated). Both of these events happened when I was in my twenties and unfulfilled in my job. These events combined with a tough childhood have inspired me to want to live a full life and inspire others to do the same. What more of a wake up call do you need to say life is short than possibly facing the same fate of your parents in 20 years?
What’s your definition of a full and happy life? Better yet, what are you doing today to make it happen? My mission is to empower you and every single person that I meet to recognize that we have CHOICE every single waking minute. We can admit defeat or we can push forward. We can quit a job that we hate or we can re-frame our attitude so we can love it. I don’t accept the excuse that we’re at the mercy of the events and obstacles that life throws at us. This doesn’t mean that I don’t get down and that I don’t give up, I’m normal of course this happens. I don’t wear a pain shield to make me some how exempt from feeling hurt and I wouldn’t even want to. I’m a life coach and I want to walk the talk in all aspects of my life to show my clients that we’re all facing similar obstacles but that doesn’t mean that we have to quit, get down on ourselves or shut down.
Take risks, challenge the status quo, embrace and love you for who you are and what you want. Let go of being perfect, it’s an unattainable goal that makes us feel like shit. Embrace your mistakes, for you’re better for it and can inspire others by sharing your story. Let go of the “should haves” or “crap, I’m so ashamed I did that”, it’s too much baggage to carry with you to where you want to go and you deserve to be free of those chains. BE AUTHENTIC! The world doesn’t need a clone the world needs more people to step up and own who they are so others can feel empowered to do the same.
There are not enough words for how I feel about the subject of us embracing the possibilities in front of us and designing a life that we want to live. Some days I wish I could shake everyone awake from the numbness that we’ve created but I know that’s not how it works. What works is inspiring people, then those people inspiring others to be free, brave and courageous. To let go of the expectations that we place on ourselves to please our family, friends and society. What’s going to count in the end are the experiences you did for you because you wanted to and felt good doing it.
Follow what makes you feel good today, own who you are and fucking love every single particle that is you.
That is why I’m a life coach. To spread a message of inspiration, authenticity and empowering choice to “choose your happy life”. Spread this message, share this blog post, help people give themselves permission to start loving the hell out of their life!
