Aren’t you sick of it yet? Rehashing yesterday’s choices and wishing you would have done something differently? Well I’m here to tell you it’s time to STOP. Stop beating yourself up, stop stressing out, stop being mad at yourself and stop making excuses to not take action on things that are important to you. Start getting shit done, start making life easier, start feeling better, and start choosing your happiness!
As women we arePROGRAMMED to put others first, which can sometimes lead to our own detriment and unhappiness. Our desire to make others happy often prevents us from saying “No”, even when we really should. Whether it is saying “No” to work assignments, social events, or even that dreaded piece of cake, we really struggle with the idea of letting someone down. But that time is over, it’s time to start living with intention. If we always say “Yes” and we can never tell anyone “No”, we are essentially living on auto-pilot. Living like this, we are robotic, every day, going through the same motions and living without realizing that we can make different choices. Hello! We have a choice, you are living and breathing, right? R2D2 shouldn’t be living a more fulfilling life than you! We can choose to be more productive, we can choose to exercise, we can choose to read a book or do something productive instead of watching the Real Housewives.
This blog post is about waking up and getting shit done. That shit is the stuff that makes us happy, reduces our stress, and gives us a sense of accomplishment. Here are three success tips to start putting yourself first and getting shit done.
How to Get Shit Done in 3 Steps.
1. Have a Vision. Write down a plan of what you want to accomplish over the next week, the next year, and even the next five years. Know where you want to go and start living a life of intention. Want to get that promotion? Start mapping out your plan to get there. Want to be healthy? Create some goals forDIET AND EXERCISE. STOP BEING A ROBOT! You have choice and that vision helps you be more strategic with your choices so you end up where you want to be!
2. Quit Slacking. Harsh right? But if we want to make change we have to be honest with ourselves. Are you really using your time in the most beneficial way? Are you making decisions that align with your vision? Is fear getting in the way? How are you getting in your own way? Seriously, answer that question and write down the answer. Then plan a way to overcome your excuse, fear, or limiting belief. Stop kicking your own ass for not seizing opportunities and start planning ways to get you to the life you want to live!
3. Be Persistent. So maybe you cheated and ate like crap, that doesn’t mean you order take out for the next 6 nights, you can immediately make a different choice and move on. Or maybe you didn’t get the promotion. Instead of wallowing in it (I HAVE ABSOLUTELY BEEN THERE) be more strategic with your time. Get feedback about why you didn’t receive the job. Keep putting yourself out there, be open to the new opportunities that could come your way and embrace change. However, do not give up. Remember, good things come to those that work their asses off, though be mindful of the instant gratification or validation trap, it tries to stop you from trying. Everyone knows it, it’s that voice in our head that says “it didn’t work out this time, so it probably never will” or “you’re not good enough”. It is a liar and is doing the biggest disservice to you and your dreams. Thank that validation trap and then send it on its way.
